Remediation Projects - Impacted Soil Sites

Former Gasoline Station    back

Client:  Tomecak Design, Phoenix, Arizona

Project:   Phoenix, Arizona
A former Alliance/Exxon gasoline station had two different releases of gasoline with an estimate of 18,000 gallons. The contamination consisted of a large vapor plume with very high levels of Benzene in a densely populated commercial neighborhood.

Solution:  BEAR personnel provided a risk assessment, examined regulatory compliance issues, as well as remediated soils, and extracted soil vapor gases. BEAR conducted site investigations and remediation installation work in Level B & C HAZMAT gear.  Upon completion of the work plan, a full public hearing was conducted on the site and changes to the site were initiated as a result. Public hearings resulted in additional environmental permitting for site, a new retaining wall, installation of all electric remediation systems, air monitoring and traffic and noise studies.
