Remediation Projects - Hazardous Waste Clean-Up

Sierra Vista Tanker Truck Rollover    back

Client:  Dunlap Oil, Willcox, Arizona

Project:   Sierra Vista, Arizona
A tanker truck with 5,500 gallons of gasoline over turned and burned in front of one of the two main intersection entrances into Fort Huachuca in Sierra Vista, Arizona. Gasoline from the tanker flowed along the intersection more than 1,000 feet into a protected wildlife area and the military reservation.

Solution:  BEAR personnel managed the team of specialized professionals who eradicated the gasoline from all areas of concern. BEAR involved eleven (11) different regulatory agencies to remediate the impacted site and reclaim the wildlife area. BEAR was the prime contractor for all environmental efforts, which led to a successful site closure and the redesign of the highway intersection. The tanker truck, the burn area, and the areas impacted by the flow of gasoline were remediated within seven weeks of the rollover with the site restored and reclaimed.
