Remediation Projects - Facility Closure
Former Gas Station back Project: Billy’s Texaco--Willcox, Arizona Solution: In reassessing the site, BEAR found more extensive impacts to the soils and groundwater. This project involved the in-situ remediation of a release of an estimated 15,000 gallons of gasoline from a poorly operated gas station constructed in the 1950s. Remediation included the physical removal of over 9,000 gallons of fuels from the soils and water with vapor extraction as well as free product removal with another 1,000 gallons destroyed through bioremediation. |
