Active Regional Truck Stop  back

ClientDunlap Oil, Willcox, Arizona

Project:  Wilcox Truck Plaza--Willcox, Arizona
This active regional truck stop had gasoline and diesel fuels leaking from its pipes. The release impacted both soils and groundwater over an area of 12 acres. The site was further complicated by additional releases from adjacent retail gasoline stations as well as geologic subsidence.

Solution:   Approximately 33,000 gallons of diesel and gasoline were recovered from the groundwater and soils, with another 3,000 gallons destroyed thru bioremediation.  BEAR utilized geophysical method and extensive modeling to identify problem subsidence areas from dissolution of salts and gypsum contained in the paleo-shoreline sediments under the northern portion of the city.  BEAR installed 1,100 feet of trenching in a high traffic area, and executed directional drilling and piping installation under a regional intersection and access road.  We effectively controlled and removed the gasoline and diesel from the site using Bioremediation technologies as well as Vapor Extraction methods.
