Project Management

To an environmental firm nothing is more important than the success of its Project Managers. Effective Project Managers will locate the necessary resources along with the best people, proper tools, and identify the best balance of time and money for their client. This includes motivating all participants to be actively involved and stay focused on the goals of the project.

BEAR’s personnel have a unique blend of experience in Project Management; most have managed large staffs with over 20 professionals and technicians.  Each Project Manager has proven successful time management skills with experience in engineering/environmental consulting, regulatory agencies, and remedial agencies. We define and categorize our area of expertise with Project Management within these main areas: Cost Estimation, Construction Monitoring, and Construction Management.

Project and Construction Management is the discipline of planning, organizing, securing and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific engineering project goals and objectives. The primary challenge of project management is to achieve all of the engineering project goals and objectives while honoring the preconceived project constraints. Typical constraints are scope, time, and budget.

Cost Estimation is the process of approximation of the probable total cost of a program or project, computed on the basis of available information.

Construction Monitoring usually is a process of on-site inspections of the work in progress to evaluate the quality and progress of the work. The inspections must be sufficiently comprehensive to report the status and acceptability of ongoing work, planned future work, and the potential for delays or claims. During the life of the project, the reviews should encompass an assessment of the recordkeeping effort, including diaries, payrolls and statements, materials sampling and testing, independent assurance testing, measurement and payment of quantities, progress payments, and an assessment of overall adequacy or required corrective action.
