Projects - Expert Witness / Professional Witness

Client-Federated Insurance, Owatonna, Minnesota back

Project:  BEAR was retained by Federated Insurance Company to provide expert review of ongoing environmental projects in the southwestern United States.  We were asked to take over various environmental projects to resolve outstanding issues to obtain closure, to assist and manage the cost recovery efforts under the State Assurance Fund program and to provide assistance to Federated Insurance on new policy development for various environmental issues.

Solution:  BEAR obtained a “No Further Action Letter” from the state regulatory agency on a site that had been open for eleven years and was managed by Federated Insurance. In addition, BEAR held seminars on various environmental issues for upper management of Federated Insurance Company.  In addition, we assisted in the development of new policy guidelines, methods to evaluate environmental claims, and methods to evaluate ongoing site remediation work.
