Phoenix, Arizona – March 2, 2010 – Beck Environmental And Remediation, Ltd. (BEAR) has been awarded an 8(a) Business Development, Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) certification. BEAR will participate in the U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) 8(a) Business Development Program for a nine (9) year term beginning on February 9, 2010. The 8(a) is a federal program designed to benefit and develop small businesses. Beck Environmental and Remediation, Ltd., established in 1998, is a full service environmental, investigation, planning, and remediation firm. The 8(a) Business Development program is designed to assist socially and economically disadvantaged entrepreneurs to stand out and receive a legitimate chance to compete for federal contracts. The SBA has several requirements for the candidates and the process is quite involved. The business must be at least 51% owned by U.S. citizens who are found to be socially and economically disadvantaged and the business must be managed and controlled by disadvantaged individuals. The candidates must also demonstrate potential for success and the business itself and its principals and owners must demonstrate good character. |
